Renee T. Szu, MBA

President & Senior Analyst

Born and educated in Taiwan with a BA in Accounting and a minor in Computer Science, Renee completed her postgraduate studies at Cal. State University-Hayward with an MBA in Finance. She first worked with Marshall Berg, CPA in San Leandro, CA in 1979 before joining Western Pension Administration, a TPA firm in Oakland, CA in 1981 where she began her career in the pension industry. In 1991, she co-founded WESPAC Advisors, Inc., a registered investment advisory firm and WESPAC Plan Services, Inc., an administration and recordkeeping firm. In July of 2008, Focus Financial Partners, LLC (IPO in July of 2018 as FOCS) purchased both companies and they continue to operate as wholly-owned subsidiaries with Renee acting as president.

John C. Williams, III, MBA

Chief Compliance Officer

John joined WESPAC in the late 1990's and his position as advisory operations manager means not only overseeing the retirement plan advisory business but also fulfilling key compliance and portfolio management roles. John is also a member of WESPAC Advisors' formal investment committee overseeing performance standards for both the qualified plan and high net worth sectors of our advisory services. His prior experience includes positions as a financial analyst with both The North Face and CIGNA Healthcare of Northern California. He served for 4 years in the U.S Army as a linguist and graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a BA in political science and minors in economics and Japanese language. He is also a graduate of the Thunderbird School of Global Management with an MBA in finance.

William Kim

Managing Director
A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, William Kim combines investment expertise with a relationship focused approach, helping foster strong partnerships and creating opportunities for collaboration across Charles Schwab and CPA firms throughout the Western United States.  As an advisor with extensive experience in investment management and financial services, he leads a team dedicated to helping firms manage their retirement plan benefits. 
 
Since Will sits at the intersection of capital markets, planning and trust, he has been able to advise clients within the tech sector, family offices, professional services companies, oil and energy companies, food and retail franchises, early round start up and independent entrepreneurs.  With close to 30 years of experience, his commitment to consultative advising and relationship building has helped several clients meet their retirement goals.
 

Thomas C. Lambert, CLU, ChFC

VP / Senior Consultant & Advisor 

Early in his financial services career which began in 1980, Tom focused on working with businesses and their owners to effectively serve their financial, planning and retirement objectives. This path led Tom to join WESPAC in 1982, where he became a senior officer and principal by the late '80s. Tom sought other entrepreneurial opportunities during the '90s and early 2000’s, however he ultimately came back home to WESPAC in 2006. During the years since, Tom has served in multiple roles including operations and project management but has always dedicated most of his time working directly with clients in serving their needs. As a life-long student of the business, Tom’s professional credentials and educational background include the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter designations, along with graduate studies and certificates from The American College of Financial Services in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, undergraduate studies at the University of the Philippines, and numerous industry courses and programs.

Robert D. Perussina, AIF®

Wealth Management Director/Senior Consultant & Advisor

As a senior consultant and advisor with WESPAC, Bob directs the Wealth Management Group for WESPAC Advisors. Prior to joining WESPAC, Bob held executive management positions at several financial services and software companies during the past three decades. He pioneered the SAFE Workshops, an in-depth series of employee education programs adopted nationally by large companies such as Nestle, Harris Digital, PG&E, and Beringer Wine Estates. He received his Bachelor’s Degrees in Environmental Biology and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Bob received his designation of Certified Financial Planner in 1982, and is currently an Accredited Investment Fiduciary. graduating from the AIF Capstone Program, offered through the Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania, West Coast Campus. Bob also holds a California Life Agent's license.

Shevick Vanderwey

Retirement Plan Consultant and Advisor
After graduating from Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Shevick moved to California to begin his career with WESPAC. With a passion for data and a natural ability to listen and understand the needs of others, he has spent the past 15 years helping retirement plan participants make informed investment decisions and work toward their retirement goals.  In addition to helping plan sponsors and participants, Shevick handles WESPAC’s multimedia distribution.  Outside of work, Shevick enjoys skiing, hiking and camping and frequently returns to Montana to reconnect with his friends and family.
 

Patrick Gaynor

Senior Consultant & Advisor

Patrick Gaynor is an investment professional with a strong background in portfolio management and financial advisory services. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and later completed his MBA at Indiana University.
Over the course of his career, Patrick has worked as a hedge fund manager and registered investment advisor, bringing experience in portfolio management and client advisory services.  His focus on defensive hedging strategies has been beneficial for WESPAC clients looking to protect downside risk.

Outside of work, Patrick is committed and passionate in giving back to his local community. He regularly volunteers at a local food bank, supporting efforts to provide food and essential resources to individuals and families in need.  Addressing food insecurity is a problem that Patrick believes can be solved at the intersection of caring citizens and resources being allocated properly. 

Nick Shelton

Client Service Representative

Nick Shelton attended the University of Oklahoma, his hometown college. After schooling he was drawn to client facing support at WESPAC.  He is dedicated to building long lasting relationships with his colleagues and clients.  In Nick’s role as a client services representative, he is dedicated to helping clients navigate their investment decisions and work toward their long-term financial goals by offering thoughtful guidance.

Outside of work, Nick is passionate about music and enjoys spending his free time playing music and hiking with his 2 dogs. His creativity and dedication to music reflect the same enthusiasm and commitment he brings to his work with clients.

Anthony Belbis

V.P. Retirement Plan Administration

A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles in 1987, Tony’s first seven years of career development at Price Waterhouse Coopers provided experience with a broad spectrum of retirement plans and responsibilities. This encompassed everything from new-start to large plans with more than 10,000 plan participants. His initial focus on the narrower field of pension-actuarial design (including completion of an extensive series of Society of Actuaries exam and ASPPA Actuarial certification courses) has evolved in recent years to a wide breadth of practical experience in working with pension clients in conjunction with the defined contribution sectors. He is eminently qualified to provide a high level of consultation and administrative support to WESPAC’s diverse group of client requirements.

Stephen Grillmeyer

Pension Administrator

Stephen Grillmeyer has been a Pension Administrator with WESPAC Plan Services, LLC since January of 2005 and has been working in the retirement industry for over 20 years. He loves being a Pension Administrator and working with clients and participants on their retirement goals.

Stephen graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Managerial and Agricultural Economics. He also has a Qualfied 401(k) Administrator(QKA) credential from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA). Before joining WESPAC in 2005, Stephen worked for several other TPAs (third party administrator firms) including Wells Fargo, Barclays Global Investors, Merrill Lynch and PenCal. He also worked for Hambrecht & Quist administering their 401(k) Plan, equity option plans and managing their commission compensation group.

Stephen currently resides in Elk Grove, California with his family. In his free time, Stephen enjoys hiking, bike riding, taking his dogs on walks, attending his son’s soccer games, working in the garden/yard, playing ultimate frisbee and playing guitar.
